MSD of Stoughton, Massachusetts promoted Mike Marusa to SVP of Sales. Marusa was most recently VP of Sales with Purchase Clinic. He has a decade of distribution experience with Cardinal Health, and holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Penn State.
Shockwave Medical of Fremont, California named Doug Godshall its president and CEO. Godshall was CEO and director of HeartWare International Inc., which was acquired by Medtronic in August 2016. At Boston Scientific, he was president of vascular surgery, VP of business development, and a member of its operating committee. Godshall replaces Shockwave Medical co-founder, Daniel Hawkins.
SunTech Medical of Morrisville, North Carolina has promoted VP of sales and marketing Rob Sweitzer to CEO. Sweitzer is a past VP and GM for infection prevention disposables manufacturer TIDI Products, and has been Director of Sales for Smiths Medical. He is a U.S. Army veteran and holds an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
NAI of Scottsdale, Arizona has made Jason E. Porter its director of engineering and continuous improvement. Porter, who has more than 20 years’ experience in engineering, sales, manufacturing, and strategic planning, was most recently director of global technology development with the PKC Group.
Titan Spine of Mequon, Wisconsin has added Ed Graubart as its VP of professional development. Graubart has more than 27 years of experience with companies like NuVasive, DePuy Spine, and EBI; most recently, he was VP of Sales at Ceterix Orthopaedics.
Astellas of Northbrook, Illinois promoted Shontelle Dodson, its VP of medical Excellence, to SVP and Head of Medical Affairs Americas. Dodson’s career has included stops at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 10 years at Pfizer’s urology and respiratory franchises, and was VP of Medical Affairs at GTx Inc.
Eli Lilly and Company of Indianapolis, Indiana named Leigh Ann Pusey its SVP of corporate affairs and communications. Pusey is the current president and CEO of the American Insurance Association, a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Committee of 100, and board member of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. She is a former deputy assistant to President George H.W. Bush for the White House Office of Public Liaison, and deputy director of communications for the Republican National Committee.
The Grünenthal Group has named Mark Fladrich COO of its Global Commercial Organization. Fladrich is Area VP of Southern and Western Europe at AstraZeneca, and will join Grünenthal September 1. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, more than 20 of which were spent at AstraZeneca.
Alcon of Fort Worth, Texas named Steven Lane its CMO and Global Head of Franchise Clinical Strategy. Lane will join the company June 1. He is an ophthalmologist, a founding partner of Associated Eye Care, and past president of the American Society of Cataract Surgeons. Lane is also an adjunct professor of ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota and Co-Chair of the ASCRS Foundation.
