The American Urological Association (AUA) of Baltimore, Maryland added assistant secretaries Sam S. Chang, Aseem R. Shukla and Angela B. Smith. Each will support the AUA secretary in shaping and executing its international strategy, programming and activities.

Houston Methodist Pain Management Associates at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital has added board-certified anesthesiologist and pain specialist Cole Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Anesthesiology Institute, Department of Pain Management.

Cook Medical of Bloomington, Indiana has added Mark Breedlove as vice president of its vascular division and DJ Sirota as vice president of its med/surg division.

Athenahealth of Watertown, Massachusetts has named former GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt to chairman of its board of directors. Immelt becomes the 11th director of the company board, and will purchase $1 million in Athenahealth common stock on the open market. He was the GE chairman and CEO for 16 years, and holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Dartmouth and a Harvard MBA.

ConcertoHealth of Aliso Viejo, California promoted Regional Medical Director Christopher Dodd to chief care transformation officer. Dodd has been with the company since 2016 and also works as a physician at the ConcertoHealth Lakewood Care Center. Dodd is a founding member and current president of the board of directors of Maravilla Health, and serves as a faculty member in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington

The Institute for In Vitro Sciences, Inc. (IIVS) of Gaithersburg, Maryland named Frank Gerberick its chief scientific advisor. Gerberick’s career started at Procter & Gamble Company, where he focused on dermatotoxicology.

3Scan of San Francisco, California named Steve England its chief science officer. England joins 3Scan from AbbVie; prior to AbbVie, he led discovery teams in pharmaceutical development at AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

Exogenesis of Billerica, Massachusetts appointed Dmitry Shashkov its president and CEO, replacing Exogenesis cofounder Richard Svrluga. Shashkov joins Exogenesis from H.C. Stark Fabricated Products, where he was president and CEO. He also held management roles at Honeywell Specialty Materials, and worked at McKinsey & Company, managing projects in chemical, pharmaceutical, and telecommunication industries. Shashkov has a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Northwestern University and an M.S. in physics of metals from Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys.

Bruker of Billerica, Massachusetts named Burkhard Prause president of its Bruker Energy & Supercon Technologies (BEST) segment. Prause has been with Bruker for more than 15 years; prior to joining Bruker, he was a senior staff scientist at the Max-Planck Institute in Tuebingen, Germany. Prause holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

Geisinger of Danville, Pennsylvania has named Kevin V. Roberts its executive vice president and chief financial officer, succeeding the retiring Kevin Brennan, Geisinger's longest-serving chief financial officer; Brennan will remain at Geisinger through June, when he will become chair of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Roberts joins Geisinger from BJC HealthCare; he has also been senior vice president and chief financial officer of Washington University School of Medicine. Roberts has also held executive-level finance positions at University Hospitals Health System and the Cleveland Clinic, both in Cleveland, Ohio, and Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

Therapeutics Solutions International, Inc., of Oceanside, California appointed James Drew Veltmeyer to its scientific advisory board. Veltmeyer is a board-certified family physician in La Mesa, California. A graduate of UC San Diego and the Ross University School of Medicine, he completed his residency through the UC San Francisco system where he became chief of family medicine residency, overseeing 36 doctors.

J M Smith Corporation of Spartanburg, South Carolina promoted CTO Kevin Welch to head of QS/1 technology solutions, replacing Saul Factor. Factor will lead the wholesale distribution business units Smith Drug Company and Burlington Drug Company. Welch joined J M Smith with the acquisition of Integra, which he founded in 1997. He holds degrees in mathematics, computer science, operations research and engineering management from Stanford University and has served in senior positions at Genentech, Symantec and Microsoft. Factor spent the first 10 years of his career as a pharmacist before moving into leadership positions with PCS, Eli Lilly and RxAmerica; he joined J M Smith from McKesson Corporation.

TeamHealth of Knoxville, Tennessee has added Phillip W. Roe, chief executive officer of Martin Ventures to its board of directors. Roe joined Martin Ventures in June 2015 after serving as vice president of finance for Tenet Healthcare following its acquisition of Vanguard Health System in October 2013. He was previously the controller and chief accounting officer for OrNda Healthcorp, and he began his career with EY where he was a senior manager before joining OrNda.

United Rheumatology of Hauppage, New York has named Brian Smith chief operating officer and Kelley Jewett senior vice president of member solutions. Smith was most recently chief business officer for an independent rheumatology practice, has founded a research-stage biotechnology start-up, and another start-up focused on microsurgery simulation from product concept to post-revenue. Jewett most recently was national sales director for Crescendo Bioscience, and worked for Janssen, a division of Johnson & Johnson, in sales and marketing.

Millennium Health of San Diego, California named Andrew A. Lukowiak its chief executive officer. Lukowiak most recently was chief operating officer and interim chief executive officer of a commercial stage CLIA laboratory and held key positions at GenMark Diagnostics, Hologic, and Third Wave Technologies. Lukowiak holds a doctorate in genetics from the University of Georgia and a bachelor's degree in biology from Penn State University.

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia has named Clarence Davis its senior medical director for Georgia. Davis was CMO for Memphis Health Center and has held leadership positions with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, Memphis Managed Care Corporation and Memphis Health Center.
