The Joint Commission (TJC) of Washington, D.C., has named Kenneth Monroe the senior associate director of its department of engineering, succeeding outgoing director George Mills, who held the position for nearly 13 years. Monroe previously was an associate project director in the TJC Department of Standards and Survey Methods. He has more than 25 years in the health care field, including as facility director at a 1.3-million-square-foot health care center, and has taught project management at the graduate school level. Monroe holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering as well as an MBA from Northwestern University.
Broward Health of Fort Lauderdale, Florida has named Jared M. Smith CEO of Broward Health Coral Springs. Smith was most recently national service line administrator for cardiac and vascular services at Tenet Healthcare. He was also COO of Delray Medical Center, oversaw Teneet’s first proton center in Palm Beach, and he chaired the COO group of its 17-hospital coastal division. Smith also has worked at Deloitte & Touche and Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is a CPA and holds a master’s of science in taxation and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, both from the University of Miami.

Royal Philips of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has promoted its global ultrasound business leader Vitor Rocha to CEO of Philips North America. Rocha has spent 20 years in the field, having joined Philips in 2010 as the leader of the Latin American market for its health care sector.
The Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS) of Golden, Colorado, has named Ornah Levine-Dolberg its inaugural EMEA President. Levine-Dolberg is vice president and global head of medical affairs, research & development at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and has been vice president of medical affairs growth markets at Teva Pharmaceuticals.
Wellforce of Burlington, Massachusetts named Michael Wagner its chief physician executive. Wagner is President-CEO of Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children in Boston, and has also been its chief of internal medicine and chief medical officer as well as the CEO of EmCare Inpatient Services.
NICO Corporation of Indianapolis, Indiana named Tim Davis its vice president of sales. Davis has spent 20 years in sales with companies like Anspach, Synthes-Anspach, and DePuy Synthes. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Presbyterian College in South Carolina.
NSF International of Ann Arbor, Michigan, has named Robert Ruff its executive director of medical device certification and training. Ruff is a U.S. Army veteran who also spent 27 years in the U.S. FDA.
The Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) of Seattle, Washington has named Rhonda Curry its vice president of membership and communications. Curry has led health care communications and advocacy for Olympic Medical Center, PeaceHealth, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She has a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from St. Joseph’s College of Maine and a master’s degree in communication from Gonzaga University.
EHS Medical Group of Pasadena, California named Cindy Ehnes its interim CEO. Ehnes was most recently director of the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC), and has previously worked at the Colorado Department of Insurance.
TECSYS Inc. of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, has named Laurie McGrath its chief marketing officer (CMO). McGrath was most recently CMO for Intalere (formerly Amerinet), has been interim CMO and vice president of marketing for Savvis, vice president of product marketing for SourceMark International, vice president of marketing for the Marshall Group, and director of marketing for HighJump Software.
UPM Pharmaceuticals of Bristol, Tennessee has promoted Executive Vice President Chris Curtin to COO. Curtin will oversee research & development, manufacturing, quality assurance, inventory management, quality control and analytical services.
HMC HealthWorks of Jupiter, Florida, has named Jane Wolfe its executive vice president of clinical operations and account management, Jon Reid its chief marketing officer, and Bart Bracken its COO. Wolfe spent 13 years in medical units and in surgery at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Milwaukee; Reid was mostly recently HMC’s executive vice president of program and business development; and Bracken has been HMC’s executive vice president of operations since 2012.
