The InterMed Group of Alachua, Florida has added Robi Ballicu as director of business development. Ballicu entered the medical device business in 2006 with Global Medical Imaging, where she later worked as regional manager for diagnostic ultrasound products and services and, most recently, as national strategic accounts manager.

Broward Health of Fort Lauderdale, Florida added Kiera Page as its new corporate chief human resources officer, Andrew K. Ta as its chief medical officer (CMO), and Jorge F. Hernandez as vice president of supply chain and chief procurement officer. Page was most recently director of human resources at Jackson North Medical Center in Miami, and has a master’s degree from Rutgers University. Ta has been CMO for Florida International University’s College of Medicine, associate CMO at Jackson Medical Group and Physician Services, and an attending physician at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center; he was most recently an attending physician at West Kendall Baptist Hospital.

ECRI Institute of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania named Marcus Schabacker its new President-CEO. Schabacker is a board-certified anesthesiologist and intensive care specialist who worked in clinical and academic practice in Germany and South Africa before transitioning to the medical device space. He worked at Mafikeng General Hospital in South Africa as part of a humanitarian aid program to support the restructuring and buildup of a post-apartheid rural health care system. Schabacker was most recently Corporate vice president and chief scientific officer at Baxter; he succeeds the retiring Jeffrey Lerner, who led ERCI since 2001 and will continue as president emeritus of the institute.

InTouch Health of Santa Barbara, California has added Steve Cashman as executive vice president of marketing and consumer solutions. Cashman joins InTouch Health from HealthSpot, where he spent five years as CEO; the company was acquired by Rite Aid in 2016.

PENTAX Medical of Montvale, New Jersey has promoted Global Chief Marketing Officer David Woods to president of PENTAX Medical of the Americas. Woods has been with the company since 1998 as director of national accounts; he was promoted to vice president of business development in 2001, and president of the Americas in 2004. Woods assumed his chief marketing officer position in 2015.

Lannett Company of Philadelphia has named Timothy C. Crew its CEO, effective January 2, 2018. Crew, who previously spent eight years at Teva Pharmaceuticals, succeeds outgoing CEO Arthur Bedrosian. Crew, a retired U.S. Army captain, began his pharmaceutical career at Bristol-Myers Squibb.

ORIC Pharmaceuticals of San Francisco, California has named Rich Heyman its CEO and Leonard Reyno its executive vice president and chief medical officer (CMO). Heyman was formerly the CEO of Seragon Pharmaceuticals, co-founder and CEO of Aragon Pharmaceuticals, co-founder and chief scientific officer of X-Ceptor Therapeutics, and vice president of research at Ligand Pharmaceuticals. He serves on the boards of directors of ORIC, Gritstone Oncology, Yumanity Therapeutics, Metacrine Inc., Vividion Therapeutics and Mavu Pharma, and is also vice chairman of The Salk Institute.

Vermillion Inc. of Austin, Texas, has named Bob Beechey its CFO. Beechey was most recently vice president and general manager of Q Squared Solutions Bioanalytical and ADME Laboratory Operations, and has been vice president of internal audit and vice president of finance global laboratories for Quintiles Transnational. Beechey has also been divisional vice president of finance at ThermoFisher Scientific, and began his career as a senior manager at Arthur Andersen LLP. He holds a MBA from INSEAD of Fontainebleau, France.

Zimmer Biomet Holdings of Warsaw, Indiana, has named Bryan C. Hanson its President-CEO and a member of its board of directors. Interim CEO Daniel P. Florin will continue as senior vice president and CFO. Hanson was most recently executive vice president and president of the Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group; he was formerly group president of Covidien's Medical Devices business. Hanson also serves on the board of AmeriCares.

Livongo Health of Mountain View, California, has added Arnnon Geshuri as its chief people officer. Most recently, Geshuri was vice president of human resources at Tesla; he has been senior director of staffing operations for Google, and vice president of human resources and director of global staffing for E*TRADE Financial.

Kaiser Permanente of Oakland, California has named Kathryn Beiser its senior vice president and chief communications officer for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. and Hospitals. A senior advisor with APCO Worldwide, Beiser formerly chaired Corporate Practice for Edelman Public Relations Worldwide; she has been executive vice president of corporate communications for Hilton Worldwide and vice president of corporate communications for Discover Financial Services. Beiser also serves on the board of Break the Cycle, a nonprofit organization aimed at ending domestic violence and promoting healthy relationships among teenagers.

The American Osteopathic Foundation of Chicago, Illinois, has named Rita Forden its CEO. Forden was most recently COO and board treasurer of the Corporate Leadership Center. She has also been COO at Susan G. Komen, Chicago and chief development officer at the American Cancer Society.

PhyMed Healthcare Group of Nashville, Tennessee has named Stephen Lorenz its executive vice president of operations and strategic development and Stephen Mason its vice president of operations. Lorenz was most recently executive vice president at HNI Healthcare Inc. in Austin, Texas, and has been president and CEO of Hospital Resources Management in Dallas. Mason was most recently senior vice president for the audit division at Managed Care Advisory Group in Toledo, Ohio.

MedOptions of Old Lyme, Connecticut has named Richard Nankee its CFO, and promoted Vice President of Payor Relations Nicholas Mercadante to President-COO; Mercadante also will retain his role as general counsel. Nankee was most recently a principal at RCN Healthcare Consulting and has been CFO of Community Health Services in Hartford, Connecticut, and vice president of finance – post acute services at Hartford Healthcare. Prior to joining MedOptions, Mercadante was a private-practice attorney and has worked as vice president of acquisitions at Dante Capital Management.

Illumina Inc. of San Diego, California has added Aimee Hoyt as its senior vice president and chief people officer (CPO), starting January 8, 2018. Hoyt was most recently chief human resources officer at Rackspace, but has worked at Hewlett-Packard, Cisco and Sun Microsystems. She holds a master’s degree in human resource development from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Evariant of Farmington, Connecticut has appointed Sudhakar Gorti its chief technology officer (CTO). Gorti most recently was CTO of Integra Connect; he has been CTO of DMGT, and VP-CTO at Texas Health Resources. Gorti holds masters degrees from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Stanford University.
