Government Liquidation (GL) is your direct source for U.S. Government surplus. Sales are conducted via our online auction platform through internet auctions. GL invites you to purchase medical, dental and test equipment in a convenient environment at: www.govliquidation.com. Search our inventory as new items are added daily.
Government Liquidation (GL) is unlike any other source from which to purchase preowned medical equipment. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense, GL offers end-users and small businesses an opportunity to purchase useable, non-hazardous surplus equipment for personal use, refurbishment or resale. Once the property of the U.S. Government, many of the items offered by GL are built to unique specifications and are available through no other source.
Medical practitioners, hospitals, refurbishers and equipment dealers use GL as a source to find unique equipment and supplies at substantially discounted prices.
All inventory is sold online through internet auctions, sealed bid sales and through an online retail store.
“Receiving property from all the branches of the military, we have a constant and abundant flow of inventory,” says Marketing Coordinator Susette Brandt. “If an equipment purchaser is looking for a product or piece of equipment with unique specifications, GL is a great place to look.”
GL’s website, www.govliquidation.com, allows buyers to preset searches and be notified when something on their wish list becomes available. “This is especially helpful because GL’s vast inventory is constantly changing”, says Brandt. “With thousands of items added to the inventory every week, a unique and dynamic pool of property is available at buyer’s fingertips, often for pennies on the dollar.”
GL’s dedicated team of professionals, 25 percent of which are retired military, manage over one million square feet of warehouse space and maintain outposts on over 209 military bases throughout the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam.
The purchasing process
Each week, GL receives and sorts property by commodity type and creates lots that are placed into sales events. The size of the lots vary from a single piece of imaging equipment to multiple surgical instruments and medical supplies grouped together. Two Medical Equipment internet auctions are scheduled each month. One closes on the first Monday of the month, the other on the third Monday of the month. Bidders will find detailed product information for each lot listed, along with pictures, condition codes and in some cases, video footage.
“If you have a question that is not answered in the description, you are able to ask your question on our website. If you don’t find what you’re looking for in a particular sales event, check back as the inventory is always changing.” Brandt says.
In an effort to make surplus shopping more efficient and enjoyable, GL launched a new website in June. “The site is now more user-friendly allowing shoppers to easily filter through sales events to find what they’re looking for”, says Brandt.
Shoppers can sign up for email alerts, to be automatically notified when an item on their wish list becomes available. They can also follow GL on Twitter and connect with the company on Facebook to receive updates and alerts. To see how other customers have given new life to their surplus purchases, “Go to our YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/GovLiquidation) to view inspiring stories from everyday people with a sense of innovation, with hearts of gold who give back to the community and the environmentally conscious customers who find ways to reuse and repurpose.
GL has a marked advantage over other pre-owned equipment sellers “because every item offered for sale comes straight from the Government you’re coming to the direct source”, says Brandt.
“Timing and consistency is important when shopping for surplus. Some people may be used to saying, ‘I want 10 of these on this date,’ but with GL it’s more of ‘what do you have right now, where is it located and what’s the best deal can I get?’”
GL has an excellent customer service department that will walk you through the entire process, from searching to registering and from bidding to load-out. The team can be reached via telephone, online chat and email.
An efficient organization
GL is an efficiently run organization. The company is part of a critical mission to keep surplus and idle inventories moving out of facilities nationwide, maximizing efficiencies, while creating a valuable cash flow source to the U.S. Treasury. A streamlined, state-of-the-art online auction platform helps achieve those goals. GL places a strong emphasis on national security, through inventory assurance measures and strict purchasing restrictions.
GL houses most of its inventory at military bases around the country, as well as at two large commercial warehouses located in Columbus, OH and Oklahoma City, OK. Because all equipment is sold as-is, buyers are encouraged to preview the equipment on site. All previews are by appointment.
Buyers who purchase from GL online auctions can feel good about knowing that they’re buying property at fair market price, as established by a pool of surplus bidders. But there’s far more to feel good about when you become a part of the GL marketplace. “By purchasing through GL, you will be a part of one of the largest green initiatives in U.S. history – we’ve sold over 2 billion pounds of scrap material and over 55 million surplus items on our website,” Brandt says.
There are also opportunities for those looking to sell their surplus inventory on the GL platform. GL provides sellers with customized, full-service solutions to bring their equipment to market. The company applies its expertise in lotting, merchandising, marketing and all post-sale requirements. Listings will reach a vast network of GL visitors for maximum exposure to your products.
Another great opportunity is GL’s Affiliate Program, which offers partners the opportunity to receive sales commission generated from completed transactions and new registrations when customers find GL through banner ads on partner websites.
